Oolong Tea

Oolong tea which is also recognized as wu long tea or brown Camellia sinensis, is a cross between green tea and black tea. However this tea type has more numerous green characteristics than black.

This tea like all Camellia sinensis types comes from the same Camellia sinensis tea plant, and as told previous is a type in between green and/or black teas.

This is because the tea leaves are cured more than green tea leaves, but are not allowed to fully oxidize as is the case with black tea. This tea is viewed a semi-oxidized tea, and depending on the treating, which can vary between 10 to 70 percent oxidation, gives many varieties.

Like white and green teas, oolong has many health benefits to provide. This tea has verified to demolish free radicals, which are known to cause certain cancers and even aging of the skin. A list of benefits include:

Oolong tea promotes a stronger immune system

Makes your skin look more vibrant and young.

This tea is said to create healthy teeth

It also aids in weight loss

Now while weight loss seems to be the most common gain linked with wu long tea that we have come across, the above list gives us more insight .

The brew of oolong tea is sometimes brown, so the name brown tea, yet sometimes gives a golden-like glow, this of course counting on the variety. The tasting can be either woody or flowery as well.
